ExAqua Research was established as a spin-off of the IHS Institute for Advanced Studies with a core competence especially in water management or more generally in resource economics. The institute acts as a resource and development economics complement to the internationally recognized water technology expertise of European institutions.
ExAqua pursues the goal of generating resource and development economic decision bases, developing options for action, managing implementations and evaluating realizations. Quantitative analysis competence with a profound business and economic foundation is the institute’s maxim, embedded in the premises of ecological responsibility, political feasibility and social compatibility.
Outstanding elements of the model portfolio are on the one hand the ExAqua-“ViWa”-model (Neptune Water Price Nominee 2007), which generates implicit water export and import balances, as well as financial-economic valuation and trade models for natural resources (water, wood).
